Conversion of Dutch driving licenses

This procedure usually concerns holders of Dutch driving licences residing in Greece, who have lost them.

Procedure

1. Contact your local Prefecture (Nomarchia), Directorate of Transport, Department of Driving Licences in order to apply for the conversion of your Dutch driving licence to a Greek one. Ask for the receipt of your application (arithmos protokollou). Here you can find a list of Prefectures.

2. Send us a fax (070-3621739 or +31-70-3621739 if you send it from Greece) or a mail (gremb.hag@mfa.gr, grcon.hag@mfa.gr ) with your data: name, date of birth, address in Greece, the municipality where you resided in the Netherlands, number of your driving licence, as well as any other information which you consider helpful. You should also mention to which Prefecture you have applied for the conversion and the receipt (arithmos protokollou) of your application. Please send also a copy of your passport or ID and if possible, a copy of your driving licence.

3. We contact the competent Dutch authority RDW and as soon as we have their certification, we forward it to the Prefecture (original) and to you (copy).

4. The Prefecture will proceed with the conversion.
